EXTENDED ADVISORY: 2/14/2013

THE PLEDGE (presented to all students on Feb. 13) is an interactive assembly program intended to motivate students to make a positive difference in the world around them with their words, actions, and attitudes.

Everyone faces difficulties in life; we all experience loneliness, frustration, and the pressures to do negative things like drugs, alcohol, smoking, or bullying others.

THE PLEDGE will challenge students to make good decisions and commit to building others up rather than tearing them down. It’s a pledge to be part of the solution – a call to step up and make a difference.

But 80 percent of cardiac events in women could be prevented if women made the right choices for their hearts involving diet, exercise and abstinence from smoking.
